Innovation4Waste a IFAT Monaco 2026

From 4 to 7 May, the leading players in the environmental industry will gather in Munich for IFAT 2026, held at the Messe München exhibition centre. Innovation4Waste will be among the key exhibitors at the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies — Hall A5, Booth 104 — showcasing its IoT ecosystem for waste collection.

In a global landscape marked by resource scarcity, climate change, and supply chain fragility, effective waste management has become a structural requirement that can no longer be deferred on political and industrial agendas.

Innovation remains the fundamental driver for the evolution of waste management. Among the key themes of IFAT 2026, the fair will shine a spotlight on technological integration as a lever to maximise resource efficiency and strengthen system resilience, ensuring more efficient processes and a reduction in emissions.

Within this framework of change, Innovation4Waste will present its exclusive IoT ecosystem, designed to identify, monitor, and optimise every stage of waste collection.

Our IoT ecosystem of waste collection solutions

Innovation4Waste transforms collection, access, containers, assets, and fleets into a single, manageable IoT ecosystem. This comprises smart locks, RFID readers, fill-level sensors, and asset trackers — all integrated in the Cloud — to ensure total traceability, the reliability of collected data, and continuous control over platforms and devices.

These are the solutions we will be presenting at IFAT Munich 2026.

IoT solutions for smart access control

At the heart of the IFAT 2026 exhibit will be ID-Access, the smart access control system that enables monitoring of user disposals, authorising access while blocking unauthorised attempts.

ID-Access is the smart lock for street bins and recycling centres, designed to restrict waste disposal exclusively to authorised citizens. It offers an accessible and secure user experience through various certified identification methods — RFID or NFC badges, Electronic Identity Cards (CIE) or National Service Cards, smartphone web apps, and WhatsApp — acting as a digital key that also interfaces with Pay-As-You-Throw payment models.

System efficiency is enhanced by a proximity sensor that optimises user interaction, while real-time white list management enables immediate recognition of citizens authorised for disposal.

The solution is completed by an advanced platform for the remote management, customisation, and configuration of the system, transforming access control into a smart, data-driven process.

IoT solutions for PAYT systems

Innovation4Waste’s IoT ecosystem also includes IoT solutions for Pay-As-You-Throw (PAYT) systems, designed to identify users during door-to-door waste collection. These solutions ensure the reliability of collected data, total configurability, secure data transmission, and comprehensive remote monitoring. They integrate GPS technology and are engineered to operate in extreme environmental conditions thanks to their IP67 protection rating.

  • Discovery Mobile is the first wearable RFID reader that automatically certifies waste collection without disrupting the operator’s workflow; it is available in two frequencies (LF and UHF).

  • BlackIP is the UHF vehicle-mounted RFID reader designed for single-compartment waste collection vehicles. Equipped with an antenna capable of reading at distances of up to 8 metres, it is managed via the 8-key Keasyboard, which transmits anomalies and antenna-collected data to the cloud via 4G/NB-IoT connectivity.

IoT solutions for asset monitoring

Finally, IoT solutions for asset monitoring identify and track fleets and verify bin fill-levels, offering comprehensive remote management. By leveraging the stability of 4G/NB-IoT connectivity, GPS localisation, and the reliability of long-life batteries, they ensure constant, uninterrupted visibility.

  • SmartLevel Matrix is the intelligent optical sensor that monitors bin fill-levels with extreme precision. Using Time of Flight (ToF) technology and a 16-point matrix, it performs an accurate scan of the container, allowing the detection area and notifications to be customised according to specific operational needs.

  • Asset Track-ID is the solution for the real-time monitoring of roll-off containers for waste collection, improving tracking and preventing theft or loss. Thanks to its integrated accelerometer, it detects every movement of the container and transmits data to the cloud via bi-directional communication.
